Disability is not inability

The GNHR seeks to create awareness of the disabled persons in our society, to make a positive difference in the lives of people with disability, their families and if possible their careers by creating this opportunity for them to showcase their potential, with increased participation and an environment where they are treated with respect and dignity devoid of discrimination.

Most people with disability are prone to experiencing higher levels of vulnerability than other members of the community. Most properties and even infrastructure in our society are not disabled persons friendly. The public transport systems, most public washrooms e.t.c.

With this scope in mind, GNHR seeks to include PWDs in the marathon (wheel chair and tricycle). This participants will share the tracks with elite athletes and parathletes. As part of entertainment, GNHR will give opportunity and platform to PWD to showcase their talents during the Lake Turkana moonlight Beach Concert.
